Mark Stein, M.A., LMFT

As a therapist, Mark brings an open-minded, strength-based approach to help you navigate life’s emotional encounters. By offering a safe space to share your narrative and the underlying feelings involved, he supports you in constructively resolving conflict and adversity, so you can escape the ruts in which you might have gotten stuck.

Mark earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in 2017 and interned at Airport Marina Counseling Services. He works with individuals on the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief, anger, and problematic relationship issues, utilizing an empathic, psychodynamic approach. In addition, having an extensive background in the film and television industry, he brings a unique perspective to his work with entertainment professionals in both their personal and professional challenges.

Mark has a number of other specific skills.

First, he works with men as they face issues of masculinity, and as they negotiate the challenges that come with managing both career and family. Additionally, as a father of two, Mark brings a personal understanding of the challenges of parenthood in a complex modern world.

Next, as a Certified Anger Management Counselor, Mark sees anger not as a negative attribute, but rather a positive emotional reaction toward restoring agency and balance that can be managed with mindfulness, cognitive skills, and greater emotional awareness.

Third, with regard to couples and relationships, Mark works to encourage greater communication and emotional interaction, while offering support and guidance for those managing the complexities of separation and divorce.

Mark is currently seeing individuals and couples and is forming a weekly men's group. He can be reached by phone at 323-445-0931 or by email at marksteintherapy@gmail.com

Mark Stein is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#119513) working with Dr. Michael Pariser Psychotherapy, PC
